DISSERTATION

  • Subject of MA Dissertation: An Analysis of Works of Three Experimental Artists (Robert Motherwell, Alberto Borea, Antoni Tapies): Circumstances of World War I and II along with scientific and industrial developments were among factors that affected the social significance of art. An effective element was the invention of camera and the way it could reproduce art. This invention had serious economic repercussions as it seemed to be a cheap alternative to visual arts available to the public. These repercussions created a profound impact on artists and paved the grounds for experiments in “expression and structure”, leading to a comprehensive independence of graphic design and visual structure.

Subject of BA Dissertation: Iranian Visual Arts and Abstraction

I studied pre- and post-Islamic Iranian art and made a comparative
study of Iranian and western artworks (20th century and early 21st
century). This study attempts to demonstrate the influence that
Iranian-Islamic art exerted on modern art.
